Privacy Policy for CustomLabelGroup (Android)
Last Updated: October 17, 2026
Effective Date: October 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the CustomLabelGroup mobile application for the Android platform (hereinafter referred to as the "Application", "App", "we", "us", or "our").
We take your privacy very seriously. CustomLabelGroup is built on a local-first, offline-by-default philosophy. We do not track you, we do not show advertisements, and we do not collect or store your personal information on any external servers.
1. Information Collection and Storage
1.1 Local Data Storage Only
All data created or managed within the Application—including barcode cards, barcode values, titles, notes, and column layouts—is stored strictly locally on your device using an embedded SQLite database (via Room KMP).
- We do not transmit your barcode or board data to any remote servers.
- We do not have access to the data you store inside the Application.
1.2 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or sensitive personal data, such as:
- Your name, email address, physical address, or phone number.
- Device identifiers (such as IMEI, Android ID, Advertising ID, or MAC address).
- Precise or coarse location data.
- Payment, financial, or banking details.
- User account credentials or login passwords.
2. Device Permissions and Usage
The Application requests only the minimal system permissions required to provide essential features:
2.1 Camera Permission (android.permission.CAMERA)
- Purpose: The camera permission is utilized exclusively for scanning and reading one-dimensional (1D) barcodes in real time.
- Handling: Video frames captured by the camera are processed immediately in the device's volatile memory (RAM) for barcode detection.
- Privacy Guarantee: We never record, store, capture still photos, or transmit camera images or video feeds off your device or to any cloud service.
- Optional: You may deny this permission if you prefer to input barcode data manually; the core kanban board features will continue to function normally.
2.2 System Clipboard Access
- Purpose: The Application accesses your device's clipboard only when you explicitly tap the "Copy Barcode" action on a card.
- Handling: The Application writes the barcode text to your system clipboard for convenient pasting into other applications. We do not read, inspect, or log existing clipboard contents.
3. Third-Party Services and Analytics
- No Analytics SDKs: The Application does not integrate any third-party analytics services (such as Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, or Mixpanel).
- No Advertising SDKs: The Application does not contain third-party advertising SDKs or ad networks and does not track your activity across other apps or websites.
- No Crash Reporting Trackers: We do not collect automated diagnostic or telemetry logs containing personal data.
4. Data Backup, Export, and Deletion
4.1 Export and Import
- You may voluntarily export your entire barcode board data to a local JSON file on your device for backup purposes.
- You may import a previously exported JSON file to restore your board data. This operation is performed completely offline on your device.
4.2 Data Deletion
- You retain complete control over your data at all times.
- Deleting a card, column, or resetting the board within the App permanently removes that data from your device's local database.
- Uninstalling the Application from your Android device will permanently delete all associated databases and local app storage.
5. Children's Privacy
The Application is not directed toward children under the age of 13 (or 16 depending on applicable local laws), nor does it knowingly collect any personal information from children. Because all data remains exclusively on your device, no children's data is gathered, transmitted, or processed by us.
6. Security
Because all your data resides solely within the local storage of your device, its security depends on your device's security settings. We recommend protecting your device with standard security practices, such as a secure screen lock, biometrics, and keeping your Android OS updated.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. Any updates will be reflected with a revised "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
