This Privacy Policy applies to the CustomLabelGroup desktop application (JVM) for Windows, macOS, and Linux (hereinafter referred to as the "Application", "App", "we", "us", or "our").
We take your privacy very seriously. CustomLabelGroup is designed with an offline-first, local-only architecture. We do not track you, we do not show advertisements, and we do not transmit any of your personal data or barcode entries to external servers.
1. Information Collection and Storage
1.1 Local Database Storage
All user data—including barcode lists, card titles, barcode numbers, notes, and column layouts—is stored exclusively in a local SQLite database (via Room KMP) located in your operating system's standard user application data directory.
- We do not transmit, sync, or upload your data to any remote cloud servers.
- We have no access to the data stored on your computer.
1.2 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect any personal or sensitive information:
- No personal identification information (e.g., name, email address, physical address).
- No hardware serial numbers, machine IDs, or MAC addresses.
- No network IP logging or telemetry.
- No keyboard or activity logging.
2. System Permissions and Resource Access
The Desktop Application interacts with system resources strictly to fulfill requested user actions:
2.1 File System Access
- Purpose: File system access is invoked exclusively when you voluntarily choose to Export your board data as a JSON file or Import an existing JSON backup.
- Handling: The Application reads and writes only the specific file paths chosen by you via your operating system’s native file picker dialog. We do not scan, index, or access any other files or folders on your computer.
2.2 System Clipboard
- Purpose: The Application accesses your system clipboard only when you click the "Copy Barcode" button.
- Handling: The Application places the selected barcode string into your system clipboard for easy pasting into other desktop applications. It does not monitor or read existing clipboard history.
3. Network and Internet Connectivity
- Offline-Only Execution: The desktop client does not initiate outbound network requests to external analytics, tracking, or marketing servers.
- No Third-Party Trackers: No third-party tracking, analytics, or error-reporting libraries are embedded within the application.
4. Data Backup, Migration, and Deletion
4.1 Backup and Migration
- You have full ownership of your data. You may export your entire board layout and all barcode cards to a human-readable JSON file at any time.
- You can restore your data onto any other computer running CustomLabelGroup by importing the JSON file.
4.2 Data Deletion
- Deleting a card or column within the Application removes it immediately and permanently from the local SQLite database.
- To completely remove all application data, you may delete the Application and remove its local database file located in your user profile directory (e.g.,
~/.local/shareorAppData).
5. Children's Privacy
The Application does not collect or solicit any personal information from children under 13 (or 16). Because the Application does not collect personal data from any user, no children's data is processed or stored.
6. Security
Your data is stored locally on your personal computer and is safeguarded by your operating system’s user account permissions and storage encryption (such as BitLocker, FileVault, or LUKS). We recommend keeping your operating system and security software updated.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes occur, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will be updated accordingly.
